8-9PM · NBC · Returns Sept. 29
Chuck's second season will welcome Arrested Development's Tony Hale as a peevish Buy More assistant store manager. (Go, Buster!) Also, our adorably nerdy spy (Zachary Levi) and his kick-ass handler (Yvonne Strahovski) will try dating. ''We don't want it to just be a 'Will they or won't they?' show,'' says co-creator Josh Schwartz. To complicate things, the new Intersect computer is about to come online, releasing Chuck from his coerced spy duties. Unfortunately, Casey (Adam Baldwin) has orders to kill Chuck when that happens. Says Schwartz, ''The best possible news in [Chuck's] world means a bullet to the back of his head.''
