The cartoon starring the right-leaning CIA dad is looking at a new era, come Election Day. ''I hope Obama wins, just because it'll be a really interesting challenge for Stan [Seth MacFarlane] to no longer be able to love his boss,'' says exec producer Mike Barker. ''I think more people relate to that situation than the way Stan is thrilled to go to work because he loves his boss, George Bush. We've never really dealt with Stan and race, so that might be a double whammy for him.'' And what if McCain wins, foiling Barker's plans for disgruntled comedy gold in season 4? ''I think I'll be too depressed to be funny.''
