2008 Fall TV Preview

The inside word on the networks' new and returning primetime series

Karen Neal

10-11 PM · ABC · Returns Oct. 14

In season 2, Eli (Jonny Lee Miller) fully embraces the idea that his visions are prophetic — not just some silly old brain aneurysm. ''He really believes that what's happening to him is divine, and it becomes a lot more public,'' says exec producer Greg Berlanti. ''We deal with the fallout of that.'' Case in point: Exec producer Marc Guggenheim says the first episode kicks off with a ''cataclysmic event on the level of [last season's] bridge collapse.'' The guest stars are fairly event-worthy themselves: Sigourney Weaver has a guest arc as Eli's therapist, and Katie Holmes is set to do some singing and dancing, Stone-style.
