Last season ended with a real bang — Horatio (David Caruso) was shot. ''We're really excited,'' says exec producer Sunil Nayar. ''We're champing at the bit to get [the season premiere] on the air. When you figure out who shot Horatio and why, I think it's going to be surprising and yet really satisfying.'' The series' seventh season will delve into the Russian Mob in Miami, and debut the show's fourth medical examiner, played by Megalyn Echikunwoke (The 4400). Elizabeth Berkley also returns to stir the pot as Horatio's ex: ''As the season goes on, you'll see what is the root of her complication,'' Nayar says. Complication — nice euphemism! We also would have accepted ''supernasty evilness.''
