Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke and her crew of vampires were back
at it this past week with a series of reshoots for the Nov. 21 film
based on Stephenie Meyer's hugely popular franchise. ''It's pretty cool,''
says Hardwicke. ''We got to shoot some things I really wanted.'' Reshoots
often hint that there may be a problem with a movie, but that doesn't
appear to be the case with Twilight, whose initial 44-day Oregon
production was plagued by multiple weather-related difficulties. One
newly redone scene shows Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) playing
Bella's lullaby. During the Oregon shoot, Pattinson improvised with his
own music; now he's playing the actual song, which has been written by
veteran film composer Carter Burwell (No Country for Old Men).
''[Pattinson] is a great pianist, long vampire fingers,'' says Hardwicke.
(She'd originally asked Pattinson to write Bella's lullaby for the film,
but he declined, though Hardwicke says two of his songs will still be
heard in the film.) Hardwicke also reshot the bedroom kissing scene
between Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward, additional footage of Jacob
(Taylor Lautner), and more footage that sheds light on the Cullens'
backstory. Says the director, ''It's all just icing on the cake.'' Which
should leave fans feeling a little better after the surprising events
that recently shook up their not-so-little corner of the universe: On
Aug. 28, Meyer announced that she was indefinitely postponing Midnight
Sun — a companion novel to the series that describes events from Edward's
perspective — after an early draft that the author claims was ''messy and
flawed'' was illegally leaked online last month. — Nicole Sperling

First, America's Got Talent. Next, their own TV show! The 3 Redneck
Tenors, a professionally trained singing group from Dallas that first
gained national recognition last summer on the NBC show, have joined
forces with LMNO Prods. (The Littlest Groom) to star in their own
reality or scripted series. ''These are serious musicians,'' says LMNO
chief Eric Schotz. ''They have the potential to go beyond being a
one-trick pony.'' Originally joining forces for a stage musical in 2004,
the Tenors (Matthew Lord, John Wilkerson, and Alex Bumpas) are
currently touring the country in mullets, singing songs like ''Ave Maria
Dixie.'' ''There are no redneck jokes. We're just rednecks,'' says Lord.

Music
There's still plenty of life left in Coldplay's now platinum fourth
album, Viva La Vida, but the band is already planning ahead. In an Aug.
30 interview with the BBC, Chris Martin revealed the group would
release an EP called Prospects March on Dec. 26 — and another full album
in December 2009. Is he for real? Well, back in April, drummer Will Champion told EW that there was ''potentially another album left over''
from the band's recording sessions with producer Brian Eno. Bassist Guy Berryman added, ''It's not disposable B sides. It's songs that didn't
quite fit this record. We're still very keen for people to hear them.''
+ Good Charlotte's Joel Madden will appear on ABC's Dirty Sexy Money this
season. The singer and father of Nicole Richie's daughter will play
