Eleventh Hour

10-11 PM · CBS · Debuts Oct. 9

CONCEPT Biophysicist Dr. Jacob Hood (Rufus Sewell) is the big brain called in at the ''eleventh hour'' to solve mysterious crimes.
THE SCOOP Overseen by CSI producers Jerry Bruckheimer and Danny Cannon, Eleventh is described by star Sewell as being lighter in tone than CSI. That said, exec producer Ethan Reiff ticks off some dark upcoming plot subjects: ''Reproductive cloning, cryogenic preservation, experimental brain surgery, cutting-edge cancer cures for nefarious purposes.''
BOTTOM LINE The unavailable pilot is being pushed until later in the season; a subsequent episode will air as Hour's premiere. We're dying to know how you can cure cancer for a nefarious purpose. Make only the bad guys well?
