9-9:30PM · FOX · Returns Sept. 10

JB Smoove (Curb Your Enthusiasm) joins the cast full-time as a pal for Brad Garrett's beleaguered Eddie. (The neighbors played by Eddie Kaye Thomas and Kat Foster have disappeared, though they'll pop up in a handful of episodes left over from last season.) Says exec producer Tim Hobert: ''Eddie's a schoolteacher who never really went for his dreams. And JB's Kenny symbolizes this big dreamer, so he [influences] Eddie's life in that way'' — i.e., by getting Eddie in trouble with his wife, Joy (Joely Fisher). As for Joy, Hobert offers a typical story line: ''Joely's character is going to get her first speeding ticket. Because she's rather well-endowed, she had an incredible streak of just getting warnings. So she goes and buys a new bra; she says she's looking for something between club slut and actual hooker.'' Charming.
