Trends come and go, decades fly past, but the hardy power ballad will
never die at least not as long as Buckcherry have anything to say about
it. The L.A. quintet, fresh off the radio ubiquity of ''Sorry'' last year,
prove themselves masters of the form yet again with such generically
sentimental anthems as ''Dreams'' and ''Don't Go Away'' on Black Butterfly. Up-tempo
sleazefests like current single ''Too Drunk...'' round out their fourth
CD. Whether or not Axl Rose ever finishes another album, at least we can
count on these guys to keep churning out passable GN'R B-side
impressions. B-
