In its Sept. 29 episode, Gossip Girl will hit New York Fashion Week for a runway show by Eleanor Waldorf. EW has your front row seat with this sneak peek.
SERENA'S LOOK
Tippi Top Girl's costume designer Eric Daman opted for manes that paid homage to a Hitchcock icon. ''With the hair, we wanted Tippi Hedren in Marnie. And
[for Serena] Hedren in The Birds when they're actually attacking her
hair.''
Pretty Young Thing On the show Serena's dress will be designed by Jenny Humphrey (Taylor Momsen), but it was actually created by Daman, who does all Little J's pieces. A twist of fate lands it and Serena (Blake Lively) on the runway.
J'adore Dior Inspired by late-1940s Christian Dior, Daman wanted the dress to be cohesive with the rest of the collection but still stand out, citing the ''over-the-top balloon skirt.'' ''It's revamped, with a little Jenny taste to it.''
Feet First Serena's heels are courtesy of Jimmy Choo (the Sweden Metallic Python pumps go for about $500), while the other models sport '50s-era styles from Nine West. ''They're really great for the collection,'' says Daman.
THE REST OF THE LOOKS
As with all the Eleanor Waldorf ''originals'' seen
on the show, they are designed by fashion up-and-comer Abigail Lorick. Says
the 26-year-old designer, whose eponymous line is sold at Barneys and
revolveclothing.com, ''Lorick is about bringing elegance back to my
generation of women.'' We think Blair would approve.
