1. DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES
So what do we get out of this five-year time warp? Quality hunkage (Neal McDonough and Gale Harold), a frumpy Gabrielle, and new interest in the old hausfraus.
2. BEETLEJUICE 20th Anniversary DVD
The spook spoof's re-issue has a sweet A/V polish and episodes of the Beetlejuice cartoon for the truly obsessed.
3. BEN KINGSLEY DOES MINOR THREAT
Minor Threat broke up in '83, but that doesn't faze Ben 'scuse us, Sir Ben as he fronts a punk band in Mean Magazine's tribute vid. See to believe at vimeo.com/1719921
4. LIFE on NBC
Damian Lewis returns Sept. 29 at 10 p.m. as wrongly jailed peacenik supercop Charlie Crews. But don't get this Zen master angry: Charlie is a tightly wound dude with a grudge and a gun.
5. HOUSE WITH NO HOME, Horse Feathers
The band's sublime vocals and easy strings are such reliable mood enhancers, we're prescribing them to everyone.
6. STATE BY STATE
Fifty scribes (Dave Eggers, Jhumpa Lahiri, et al.) pay their union dues penning exquisite essays about every state in the nation.
7. SKINS on BBC America
A teen show for those who despise the genre, Skins starts out as high school fluff, then morphs so subtly into transfixing drama, you'll wonder how you got so hooked so fast.
8. ''GREEN LIGHT'' video, John Legend
With its bouncy tune, Ziegfeld homage, and assist from impish dandy André 3000, ''Green Light'' may be the first time we've seen Legend look like he's really having fun.
9. MORE COWBELL (www.morecowbell.dj)
Feel like something's missing in your favorite jams? Might they need...more cowbell? Make it happen here.
10. FRINGE on Fox
If the answer is J.J. Abrams at the helm, pseudo-science fueling the plot, and Joshua Jackson there to hold our hand, we don't care what the question was.

11. ''Hot n Cold,'' Katy Perry
A catchy song dipped in '80s neon/synth goodness about a man so up and down you'd think he was going through withdrawal due to lack of drugs. Ms. Perry definitely has another surefire hit on her hands. LK
12. Neil Patrick Harris and Jason Segel sing Les Mis
This hilarious clip of Neil Patrick Harris and Jason Segel [from How I Met Your Mother] doing an impromptu performance of ''The Confrontation,'' from Les Misérables, on The Megan Mullally Show [in late 2006]. Best thing ever? Best thing ever. www.youtube.com/watch?v=EhXsJjVdj1E Cara
13. Summer Glau on Terminator: The Sarah Connor ChroniclesJennifer
14. America's Next Top Model on The CW"]
Since we're discussing a love for sartorial splendor, high-fashion Wednesdays are on my must list. First, the delicious superficiality of ANTM at 8 p.m. and then the oh-so-subtle product placements of Project Runway. I hope Heidi used the Bluefly accessory wall thoughtfully when picking out her Emmy-hosting ensembles. Dennis N.
15. sTORI telling, by Tori Spelling
Shhhh. We might have to keep this our little secret, but I'm totally hooked on Tori Spelling's book sTORI telling! I just finished it last night. It took me two days to read I couldn't put it down! It's fantastic! I never thought I would say it, but it's actually one of the most enjoyable books I've read in a long time. And, yes, I was slightly embarrassed to read it on the train. But there's no getting around it! The book jacket has a big picture of Tori on the cover, and the book jacket comes off to reveal...a bright pink book. (For the record, I had to cover it.) But I will say this there's a line of about 15 people I know waiting to read it after I'm done. Definitely on my DL Must List. NineDaves
