Lead Performance: Everclear
B
Everclear, one of rock's most deserving success stories, sticks too closely to its winning formula with a musically upbeat take on child abuse that's more like a sequel to prior hits (including "Father of Mine") than a fresh direction. The background vocals on ''Wonderful'' chirp ironic Na, na, na, na, nas as Art Alexakis sings about a boy with sad dreams caused by his parents' endless fighting. Wonderful? You bet especially the first five times we heard it. B
