Details With: Henry Fonda and Jane Fonda

It's nice that Jane Fonda wanted to pay her respects to her father with this salute to his film career, but Henry deserved better than this maudlin slog. For every exciting clip from Drums Along the Mohawk, The Lady Eve, or Young Mr. Lincoln, there are endless minutes of Jane tiptoeing around Dad's dodgy parenting skills (''caring but quiet loving us without being able to say how much '') or lapsing into more generic banalities (''He thought acting couldn't be trained ''). Fonda on Fonda has one Fonda too many. C-
