Carly Simon's first effort in nearly five years, The Bedroom Tapes, is a mishmash of uninspired '70s-style folk rock and flat-footed Y2K-flavored lyrics (''Amazon eBay/ Oracle he say... Cyberman lights up/ But mostly he floppy''). While Simon's voice is still wonderfully one of a kind, her doggedly autobiographical songs aren't. Trust us you haven't got the time for the pain. C-
