Atom Egoyan's (The Sweet Hereafter) lush but addled thriller Felicia's Journey showcases Bob Hoskins as a lugubrious English caterer and possible serial murdered who can follow a sunny cliche (''A child is a blessing'') with a death sentence (''Are you thinking of having the thing terminated?'') without a trace of irony. Unfortunately, the film deals him an unequal foil (Elaine Cassidy's empty naif Felicia) and a stultifyingly unsubtle score, which continually and jarringly reminds you that there's trouble a-brewin'.
