With this oft-forgotten series, the Mowrys cashed in on the most lucrative teentainment gimmick of the '90s: twins. No disrespect to Mary-Kate and Ashley, but this pair pulled off the shtick better. Following charming, separated siblings who reconnect as teens, Sister, Sister is a gem among simple family sitcoms. The tropes are all there silly mix-ups! annoying neighbor! parental rumbles! but the result is sweetly organic. And undeniably funny: The sisters dole out grinny laughs, but the sublime Jackée Harry (227), as Tia's strident seamstress mom, fuels much of the comedy with a constant stream of super sass. B
