Heart On (2008)

EW's GRADE
B

Details Release Date: Oct 28, 2008; Lead Performance: Eagles of Death Metal; Genre: Rock

Among other attributes, EODM singer-guitarist Jesse Hughes flexes an excellent mustache and comes up with awesome song titles (''Prissy Prancin','' ''I'm Your Torpedo''). The music on Heart On isn't quite as fine, but it has its charms. Hughes and sidekick Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age) meld rock swagger and mirror-ball flamboyance, especially on ''Anything 'Cept the Truth'' and ''Heart On.'' Falsetto vocals abound, detours into Depeche Mode electro and stoned melancholy add seasoning, and nobody takes themselves too seriously. B
