How I Met Your Mother's Alyson Hannigan, 34, will become a mother
herself next spring. This will be the actress' first baby with her
husband, actor Alexis Denisof, 42.... Two and a Half Men actor Charlie
Sheen, 43, and wife Brooke Mueller, 31, will welcome twins in April.
Sheen has three other kids from previous relationships with Paula
Profitt and Denise Richards.... Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, 39,
and wife Jordyn, 31, are expecting their second child.
BIRTHS
The world just got a little funnier: SNL's Amy Poehler, 37, and husband
Will Arnett (Arrested Development), 38, welcomed son Archie on Oct. 25
in New York.... Caroline Rhea, 44, and boyfriend Costaki Economopoulos,
38, became parents to Ava Rhea Economopoulos on Oct. 20 in New York....
On Oct. 25, Brotherhood's Annabeth Gish, 37, gave birth to her second
child — Enzo Edward Allen — with husband Wade Allen, 36, in Rhode Island.
HOSPITALIZED
Amy Winehouse, 25, checked in Oct. 25 to the London Clinic, where she is
undergoing tests. (The singer was hospitalized in June for a lung
ailment.)... Country singer and two-time Dancing With the Stars champion
Julianne Hough, 20, underwent surgery to remove her appendix Oct. 28.
She plans on returning to the dance floor this season.
RECOVERING
Desperate Housewives' Gale Harold, 39, who was admitted to a hospital
following a motorcycle accident on Oct. 14, is out of intensive care and
is expected to make a full recovery.
COURTS
Anne Hathaway's ex-boyfriend Raffaello Follieri, 30, was sentenced to
four and a half years in prison Oct. 24, on charges of conspiracy, wire
fraud, and money laundering for collecting over $2 million by convincing
investors he had connections to the Vatican.
DEATHS
Novelist Tony Hillerman, 83, author of Navajo-themed mysteries, died of
pulmonary failure on Oct. 26 in Albuquerque, N.M. Adam Beach, who
starred in the PBS adaptation of Hillerman's Skinwalkers, says, ''He was
a non-Indian writer that got it right when interpreting Native stories
and created characters that were human beings.''... Arkansas anchorwoman
Anne Pressly, 26, who played a journalist in W., died in Little Rock on
Oct. 25, five days after she was found beaten in her home. Police have
not identified any suspects.... Deep Throat director Gerard Damiano, 80,
passed away on Oct. 25 in Fort Myers, Fla., of complications from a
stroke.
Jennifer Hudson's Family Tragedy
The mother, Darnell Donerson, 57, and brother, Jason Hudson, 29, of the Oscar-winning actress were found fatally shot in Chicago on Oct. 24 in an apparent domestic dispute. Tragically, there was a third victim: On Oct. 27, officials found the body of Hudson's 7-year-old nephew, Julian King, in an SUV three days after he was reported missing. William Balfour, Julian's mother's ex, was brought in for questioning; he has been transferred to a state facility for a parole violation and remains a person of interest in the investigation.
