Not since Harry Potter has a book-to-film adaptation caused such a frenzy with the under-15 set. (For more on Twilight, stay tuned for extensive coverage in our next issue.) But Stephenie Meyer's franchise-ready novel Twilight, a tortured love story between an average girl (Stewart) and an extraordinary vampire (Pattinson), has the series' mostly female fans atwitter. Now the onus is on Hardwicke and her stars to make Meyer's characters flesh and blood. And if there's enough blood, maybe they'll get some boys to come, too.
