Hurt and Wilson turn in sturdy performances as parents of a math prodigy (David Call) in Beautiful Ohio, a 1970s-set coming-of-age drama. But Chad Lowe's directorial debut lurches from scene to scene. Neither the script nor the characters — like the genius teen's thinly sketched girlfriend (Michelle Trachtenberg)— add up to much. C
