Showtime's second installment of soapy royal drama The Tudors is best summed up by a verse poet Thomas Wyatt writes in ep. 9: ''These bloody days have broken my heart.'' The dark era in which Henry VIII (Rhys Meyers) split from the Catholic Church ignited by his marriage to the cunning Anne Boleyn (Natalie Dormer) is bloody and rife with torture (e.g., boiling alive). However, the essential elements of opulence and deceit (Henry strays from his new queen) remain. The lack of EXTRAS is as tragic as Anne's demise, with just two featurettes, including a snoozy look at the modern descendants of the dynasty. Tudors: B+ Extras: C-
