Look Around You (2009)

Pay attention, class, here's 
today's question: What's the connection between Star Wars Sith Lord Darth Maul and 1970s educational 
videos? The answer, kids, is
 U.K. comic and impressionist Peter Serafinowicz, who spoke the dialogue of the 
 former and lampoons the latter as co-writer of the fake science show Look Around You. Each edition of the imported British 
 parody purports to scientifically examine a different aspect of our world (germs, water, math, etc.) via a series of experiments. In fact, the information offered is wildly incorrect (''Germs 
originated in Germany before rapidly spreading throughout the rest of the world'') and the experiments downright farcical 
(a scientist, played by Shaun of the Dead director Edgar Wright, demonstrates that ghosts can't whistle). The result is hilarious, but will have particular resonance for readers old enough to recall when ''multimedia'' meant watching a film about the mating habits of dung beetles. B+
