Deep into American Idol's semifinal round, we're starting to see which contestants might become household names with record deals come May. But while we await the dreaded release of Tatiana Del Toro's Songs From a Drama Queen, let's take a look at the upcoming projects from some previous Idol standouts.
Kelly Clarkson
Our lives have sucked without the season 1 champ. So two years after the
disappointing My December, we're happy to catch up with her on March 10
via her fourth studio album, All I Ever Wanted.
Clay Aiken
Earlier this week, Aiken confirmed that he has parted ways with label
RCA Records. ''We were unable to come to terms in a recent contract
negotiation and decided that it was best to move on,'' said his reps in a
statement. But that doesn't mean the ''Invisible'' singer will be an
invisible man. The season 2 runner-up will be a guest judge on the April
8 episode of America's Next Top Model.
Fantasia
The season 3 champ has been plagued by rumors of financial woe, but she
has plenty of work to help pay the bills: She's currently recording her
third studio album, will appear in a 10-week run of The Color Purple,
and is shopping a reality show chronicling her return to high school.
David Cook
Take note, Cougars 4 Cook: Season 7's champ will be releasing two
singles in March ''Come Back to Me'' and ''Bar-ba-Sol'' and recently kicked
off the Declaration Tour Feb. 13. (For more on what other Idolers like
