Don't be fooled by the low grade: This sequel-in-spirit to Jean-Claude Van Damme's 1994 dud doesn't even succeed in being memorably bad. Instead, it's an anonymous soup of pan-Asian action clichés slopped into the story of a fast-kicking hottie (Kristin Kreuk) out to avenge her kidnapped father. The fight scenes are saggy, the actors especially Chris Klein as a greasy cop are stiff, and the sleepiness of it all is enough to make you nostalgic for the simple smackdown charms of the movie's namesake videogame.
