One Voice (2012)

EW's GRADE
C

Details Lead Performance: Billy Gilman; Genre: Country

We haven't had a prepubescent country star in more than a half decade — that is, since LeAnn Rimes. Twelve-year-old Billy Gilman has a very sweet little voice, can belt it out, and undoubtedly has a truckload of stage presence. But whereas Rimes started out channeling Patsy Cline, they've got this kid singing Sucaryl-laced contemporary crap. On One Voice, the entire project, from his fake Southern accent (he's from Rhode Island) to the hideously high-gloss production, smacks of hucksterism. C
