Ted Turner really ought to give up on making original TV movies for TNT and just stick to showing great old theatrical films. His latest snoozer is a fact- based account of an Israeli scientist who revealed to the world that his country was making a whole lot more nuclear weapons than anyone had thought.
Griffin Dunne plays the scientist with beetle-browed sincerity, and even though we're supposed to think of him as a hero, his character is also a squealer, and therefore not terribly sympathetic. Secret Weapon is terribly solemn, terribly noble-minded, terribly boring. D
