With so much attention being paid of late to metal bands from the Pacific Northwest, it's well worth noting the solid second album from Boston's Mallet-Head, Yeah Yeah Yeah. Bearing a passing resemblance to the Cult, the quartet kicks out bracing hard rock without resorting to endless solos, screeching vocals, or absurd satanic fantasies. B-
