The entertaining one-act Cobb finds the deceased Detroit Tiger Hall of Famer chewing up the stage with his younger selves and his one true ghost, Oscar Charleston, a Negro Leaguer known as ''the Black Ty Cobb.'' Long fodder for print and film, Cobb's negatives he was racist, misogynist, arguably a sadist have eclipsed his diamond exploits, and writer Lee Blessing begins with the bitter accusation ''You're trying to forget me.'' But, like a good bunt, the material just lays there. Maybe when producing angel Kevin Spacey saw Cobb (it had a short run in New York this spring), he decided to revive it with the off-season in mind. It's a long winter till pitchers and catchers report, so, in the meantime, this'll do. B
