Details Release Date: May 01, 2009; Rated: PG; Length: 90 Minutes; Genre: Animation; With: Luke Wilson and Evan Rachel Wood; Distributor: Lions Gate Films

Earthlings who have fled their unsustainable environment (take a lesson, kids) are the belligerent, culturally insensitive visitors, and aliens with big, moist eyes out of a sad-clown painting are the home team in this gentle, dreamy animated sci-fi tale with 3-D options in selected theaters, Battle for Terra. The production is more novel in its indie origins (not DreamWorks! not Pixar!) than in story or character development. Evan
Rachel Wood voices Mala, a resourceful
female at home on her peaceful planet, Terra. Luke Wilson voices Jim, the human pilot she rescues, even though the rest of his people are desperate invading marauders. B–
