If Grisham had a protègé... well, he'd probably do a slightly snazzier job than Reed Arvin manages to in the legal thriller The Will. At the center of the story is brilliant big-time attorney Henry Matthews, who is clearly ripe for redemption. Arvin fills his second novel with corrupt politicians, lunatic family members, and plot twists, but ultimately, The Will loses its way. B-
