The idea of an '80s-rock musical is enough to crank one's sarcasm meter to 11...or 11,000. But American Idol's Constantine Maroulis and Rent's Amy Spanger so fully embrace classics like Journey's ''Don't Stop Believin''' that even doubters will be wiping tears from their Wayfarers. Rock of Ages is the power-ballad decade in all its glory, tricked out with big perms, bigger dreams, and the kind of operatic ecstasy you read about only in bathroom stalls. A–
