Bring 'Em Back Alive (1992)

EW's GRADE
D

Details Lead Performance: Dixie Dregs; Genre: Rock

With nearly every album ever made being reissued on CD, it's logical that nearly every predigital band that ever broke up is coming out of the waxworks to reunite. Is everything old really new again? Finding a point, or just a place to breathe, was hard enough for listeners of the Dixie Dregs back when the band was the poor boogie man's bridge between the Allman Brothers Band and the Grateful Dead. Bring 'Em Back Alive is '70s fusion music played with '90s vengeance: meandering, remote, and as hollow as Allen Sloan's relentlessly annoying electric violin. D
