Q&A With Cat Deeley
Must Real Deel
AGE
32
WHY HER
What with that adorable British accent, the over-the-top fashion, and
her never-ending charm, Deeley host of Fox's So You Think You Can
Dance certainly has all the right moves. We chatted with her to find out
what makes this Cat purr.
From British-flag patterns to huge, rippling ruffles, your fashion on the show is pretty out-there. Who styles you?
I'm styling myself this year! I want people to have an opinion about it to either love it or hate it. With the kids dressed like angels and
devils or matadors or demons, I would look completely ridiculous if I
was standing there in jeans and a vest.
Dance is making a big move into a plum fall spot directly after the summer season. Do you feel the pressure?
It's brilliant because it means I get double the money and no time to
spend it!
What's your relationship like with the dancers on the show?
I call them my babies. I get attached to them all, you know? The dancers
from previous seasons come around my house for my Fourth of July
barbecue. And I shouldn't even be celebrating Fourth of July I'm bloody English!
So, what's on your Must List?
I love Sex and the City, the TV show. I could watch that again and again and again. I mourned and wore black for a month the day after the series finished.

The Girls Of Greek
Must Sorority Babes
NAMES/AGES
Dilshad Vadsaria, 24; Amber Stevens, 22; Spencer Grammer, 25
WHY THEM
Quite frankly, we weren't prepared to like sorority girls this much:
Grammer as grounded Casey, Stevens as ditz-turned-chapter president
Ashleigh, and Vadsaria as entitled Rebecca. ''I know everyone says it's
so much fun playing a bitch,'' says Vadsaria. ''But having such a guard up
is terrible. I'd be very sad when I came home.''
LET'S HEAR IT FOR THE BOYS
Even the women of Greek swoon over slacker charmer Cappie (Scott Michael
Foster). ''I'm in love with him when I watch the show,'' Grammer admits.
COLLEGIATE ATMOSPHERE
Because almost every episode includes a party, the set often feels like
one. ''People are, like, making out in back rooms together,'' says Stevens.
NEXT
Greek returns to ABC Family for season 3 on Aug. 31.
ON THEIR MUST LISTS
Vadsaria is psyched for the next Harry Potter movie, Stevens is rocking
out to the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Grammer loves sinking her teeth into
True Blood.

Kaya Scodelario
Must Bad Girl

ON HER MUST LIST
The band MGMT.
Anna Torv
Must Sci-Fi Sleuth
AGE
30
WHY HER
She's cucumber-cool as Special Agent Olivia Dunham on Fox's sci-fi drama
Fringe. ''She relies on her womanly wiles but not her fake eyelashes,'' explains Torv.
NEXT
Season 2 of Fringe kicks off on Sept. 17.
ON HER MUST LIST
The Wire.
The Glee Kids
Must Songbirds
NAMES/AGES
Lea Michele, 22; Cory Monteith, 27
WHY THEM
In playing Rachel and Finn, the lead vocalists of the high school
singing club on the new Fox comedy Glee, Michele and Monteith manage to make the stereotypes of the teacher's pet (her) and the jock (him) seem brand-spankin'-new.
SWEET STUFF
''Getting to play Rachel is like eating a delicious piece of chocolate
cake every day,'' says Michele. ''She is just a star in her mind. She's
definitely a loser in this high school, but it doesn't matter to her
because she has her mind set on what she wants to do.''
BANG THE DRUM
For one of Monteith's audition tapes, his agent had him play the drums.
''I overturned wineglasses and Tupperware on the desk and started playing
on them with unsharpened pencils,'' says Monteith. ''I saw it it's
actually not bad.''
NEXT
Glee will air on Wednesdays on Fox, starting Sept. 16.
ON THEIR MUST LISTS
Monteith digs Parks and Recreation, while Michele tunes in to So You Think You Can Dance. ''I think [host] Cat Deeley is a fembot. No one is
that nice and that beautiful.''
