Ghostbusters: The Video Game
Must Classic-Movie Adaptation
WHY THIS
Those familiar with the work of supernatural scholar Ray Parker Jr.
already know who to call when there's something strange in your
neighborhood. But now you could be the one doing the busting, thanks to
Atari's Ghostbusters: The Video Game (out now for PS3, PS2, Xbox 360,
PC, Wii, and Nintendo DS), in which players join the team as rookie
spook hunters. The game is set two years after the events of 1989's
Ghostbusters II movie, and once again, New York is facing an invasion of
ghosts and ghoulies.
BUSINESS AS PARANORMAL
Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, and Dan Aykroyd lent their voices to the
project, and the latter pair helped write it. But Aykroyd insists the
game would have been halfway decent even without their involvement. ''The
characters are so strong, the equipment's so strong, the world is so
clearly defined, you'd really have to screw it up badly for it not to be
good,'' he says. ''Maybe a full-on drag-queen Ghostbuster might be a
stretch. Although I'm not saying I would object to that...''
