Short Dog's in the House

The Oakland rapper can't decide whether he wants to be an anti-drug sermonizer or just another penis-slinging misogynist. So he settles for a little of both with Short Dog's in the House. The bubble-gum-funk backing tracks make the music pop, but $hort's defense of the word bitch on ''Ain't Nothing' But a Word to Me'' (a duet with fellow rapper Ice Cube) isn't as convincing as he thinks. B-
