The Angels’ penultimate season imported another new hottie crime-fighter. And though Shelley Hack’s Tiffany Welles brought a fresh brainy quality (she speaks Latin) from her very first episode — a Love Boatcrossover! — things were never the same after Farrah Fawcett’s post-season 1 departure. She and her hair were, however, contractually obligated to show up for guest spots—and those shine. The mysteries are still flimsy, the dialogue stiff, but it’s worth wading through to get to Fawcett’s appearance as a lovesick accomplice to Timothy Dalton’s jewel thief, just to see her face-off against the onetime 007 in a rooftop kung-fu fight. And don’t miss fun vintage guest appearances from Kim Cattrall and Patrick Duffy. B-
