Angie & Debbie (1993)

EW's GRADE
A-

Details Lead Performance: Angie & Debbie; Genre: R&B

Four of the brothers (Michael, Marvin, Carvin, and Ronald) come back after three years with a joyful collection — including an outstanding cover of Lou Rawls' ''Tradewinds'' and a lovely duet with Lalah Hathaway — only to be bested by their younger sisters, Debbie and Angie. On their debut, Angie & Debbie, the ladies turn it out with Whitney Houston on ''Light of Love,'' get funky à la TLC on ''Flashback,'' and work the tear ducts with a couple of haunting ballads. Sibling rivalry never sounded so good. A-
