The Temp (1993)

A temporary assistant (Lara Flynn Boyle) gets a panicked advertising executive (Hutton) out of a tight squeeze — and then back into several others. When she asks if there's anything else she can do for him at the office, he jokes that, yeah, maybe she can ice his competition. She does. This twisted thriller ought to be much more fun and have scads more style, but The Temp isn't and it doesn't. It's watchable, especially for the few minutes Dunaway does her executive-shark routine, but not much more. C-
