Stars advocate day of service -- Cameron Diaz, Tobey Maguire, and other celebrities encourage a National Day of Service and Remembrance for 9/11

Actors like Cameron Diaz will join forces with charitable citizens Sept. 11 for the National Day of Service and Remembrance, spearheaded by the nonprofit Be the Change, Inc. To encourage philanthropy, the initiative is setting up volunteer opportunities across the country (for more, visit servicenation.org). ''We want to activate people,'' says Tobey Maguire, chair of the ServiceNation Ambassadors Council. ''We want to create a community. This will get the dialogue going.''
