'Curb' at a Glance

Larry David co-created one of the greatest sitcoms of all time in Seinfeld. For his next act, he decided to take the path of most resistance by turning the camera on himself and unveiling an agitated antihero for the ages. Here's a season-by-season look at Larry's misadventures on Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Season 1 (2000): Mr. Miserable
Meet Larry David. He loathes social obligations. Spreads ill will at will (profane obituary typo! creepy pants-bunching!). Has a very tolerant wife (Cheryl Hines).

Season 2 (2001): Boob tube
Larry tries to reenter the TV biz by pitching a comedy with Seinfeldalums Jason Alexander and, later, Julia Louis-Dreyfus. The result? No show for you!

Season 3 (2002): Hell's kitchen
Larry invests in a lame-named restaurant (Bobo's) with friend Ted Danson. His decision to hire a Tourette's-afflicted chef turns out to be a three-star disaster.

Season 4 (2004): Springtime for Larry
Mel Brooks casts Larry in The Producers alongside Ben Stiller — secretly hoping that the production will fail so he can finally escape the show. Bad news, Mel: Larry's a hit!

Season 5 (2005): Organ boner
Larry's pal Richard Lewis needs a kidney. Larry doesn't want to give one up. But a hilarious religious identity crisis sends Larry onto the operating table.

Season 6 (2007): Full house
The Black family (yep, that's their name) move in with Larry and Cheryl after Hurricane Edna. When Cheryl finally leaves Larry, he dates Loretta Black (Vivica A. Fox).

Jeff Garlin (Larry's manager, Jeff)
Garlin's Comedy Central stand-up special debuts Sept. 25, and he's writing a comedic memoir, My Footprint, that hits stores in February.

Cheryl Hines (Larry's wife, Cheryl)
She directed the dark comedy Serious Moonlight, which stars Meg Ryan and Timothy Hutton and opens in December.
