Box office may be booming, but indie films felt the recession crunch at this year's Toronto Film Festival. Only a handful of movies had landed U.S. distribution deals at press time. Here are a few winners and losers.

The Weinstein Company bought this Colin Firth drama, directed by fashion designer Tom Ford.
