The patience of Mary Tyler Moore fans is a lesson in Zen, with three years passing since the last DVD issue. Though it was worth it — journalist Mary Richards (Mary Tyler Moore) & Co. are at the height of their powers. How many shows, for example, go from hilarious to poignant on a dime? (Don't be shocked if you mist up as Mary's carted off to jail in the premiere.) Few series can compete with the cast: Betty White, Ted Knight, Gavin MacLeod, Georgia Engel, and Ed Asner. True, there are no extras, and it's the first season without Valerie Harper, but if that bums you out, you can look forward to the season 6 release. Three words: Chuckles the Clown. A–
