BRUCE TERRIS, FIRST ASSISTANT DIRECTOR -- WINNER
WHO IS HE? Hardly the most experienced on the set, Terris has made his name on movies like ''Bored Silly,'' ''Brat 2,'' and ''Liars Club'' -- not exactly blockbusters.
WHY HE'S A WINNER His job was to keep everybody moving on the set, and he likened himself to a whip, ''which makes me the most favorite guy on the set,'' he joked. Terris was a man's director, never afraid to roll up his sleeves or get in someone's face. When food didn't arrive, when people needed to be moved off the streets, when Pete Jones slacked off, Terris smoked out of both ears -- and things got done.
ONE SHINING MOMENT Before shooting the dramatic fire scene, Terris begs for a shot list and rehearsal time, but doesn't get it. Everything that could possibly go wrong does, and Terris gets to bask in the ''told you so'' moment.
CANDID CAMERA When the child actors' on-set teacher bends down, Terris takes more than a few peeks at her exposed thong.
QUOTABLE QUOTE ''I love this bullhorn.''

KEVIN POLLAK, CAST -- LOSER
WHO IS HE? Whether you know him from his role in the ''Grumpy Old Men'' movies or his part in ''A Few Good Men,'' Pollak has always emanated the good-natured hardiness of a short, balding cherub... until ''Project Greenlight.''
WHY HE'S A LOSER In Pollak's defense, actors are usually spared public scrutiny until AFTER a film is shot, and movie sets have been a safe haven for ranting and good old-fashioned complaining. As little as we see of Pollak, he manages to drive home one major impression: This guy's a whiner!
DARKEST HOUR Pollak's true colors come out on a rainy day. ''It's raining,'' he moans. ''I don't want to get wet. Where's my f--king umbrella?''
CANDID CAMERA Candid? Everything this guy says and does is candid.
QUOTABLE QUOTE ''I've been sitting in my trailer for an hour. On this budget, that shouldn't be happening,'' he bellowed at one point. Pollak's salary may have been better spent had he been hired as a producer.

THE NINE OTHER ''PROJECT GREENLIGHT'' FINALISTS -- WINNERS
WHO ARE THEY? Jones won the top spot, but don't cry for these nine, Argentina. They all got a free computer, a camera, a limo ride, and their own red-carpet affair (actually, it was a green carpet, in honor of ''Greenlight''). Not to mention...
WHY THEY'RE WINNERS Matt Burch's ''The Upgrade'' sold to Miramax for mid-six figures (the film is currently in development). And Brendan Murphy's ''Speakeasy'' also sold to Miramax, where he'll make his directorial debut. Other competing scripts were similarly optioned, opening Hollywood doors for these would-be directors and screenwriters. Best of all: They don't have to dance like monkeys for HBO.
CANDID CAMERA Sore loser finalist Katie Fetting declines to shake hands with Affleck moments after he announces she hasn't won.
QUOTABLE QUOTE Fetting whines, ''If I don't get into the top three, I'll be absolutely destroyed.'' She doesn't make the cut, but her script, ''Beyond Good and Evil,'' is set to be directed by five-time Oscar nominee Sidney Lumet. Cheer up, Katie, maybe Pacino's free to take a role.
