Get real, McBeal. Fox had no comment, but specialists scoff. ''The systems are set up so that it's almost totally fail-safe,'' says Dr. Alan S. Penzias of Harvard Medical School. Plus, 10 years ago it would've been unlikely that Ally could've put her eggs on ice. ''Even now, techniques to preserve eggs aren't reliable,'' says American Society for Reproductive Medicine rep Sean Tipton. Still, Tipton is happy for the new mom: ''It's better than that dancing baby.''
