We Are the Children

Jacko reveals his baby's mother. He also says he still likes to share a bed with visiting kids

The kid IS his son. In his lengthy TV interview with British journalist Martin Bashir, which aired last night in the U.K. and airs Thursday on ABC, Michael Jackson revealed that his infant son Prince Michael II, the one he notoriously dangled out a hotel window in November, is his biological child, born to a surrogate mother. He told Bashir, ''I used a surrogate mother and my own sperm cells. She doesn't know me and I don't know her.''

Other revelations from the interview: Jackson claims he has had plastic surgery only twice, on his nose, because ''it helped me breathe better so I can hit higher notes.'' He says his two older children -- Prince Michael I, 5, and Paris, 4 -- have no contact with their mother, the singer's ex-wife, Debbie Rowe. ''She can't handle it,'' he said. ''She'd prefer them to be with me than with her.'' In fact, when Paris was born, ''I snatched her and just went home with all the placenta and everything all over her. I'm not kidding. Got her in a towel and ran. They said it was fine,'' he said. ''And I got her home and washed it all off.''

Jackson was notoriously accused of molesting a child 10 years ago, though charges were never filed, and the King of Pop, while denying any wrongdoing, paid a multimillion-dollar settlement to the family to avoid what he called in the interview ''a long, drawn-out thing on TV like O.J.'' Nonetheless, Jackson said he still hosts sleepovers for kids at his Neverland Ranch, where he'll serve them milk and cookies and share his bed with them. ''It's not sexual, we're going to sleep. I tuck them in,'' he said. ''It's very charming, it's very sweet.'' He recalled how, years ago, he spent the night with the Culkin kids. ''I slept in a bed with all of them when Macaulay Culkin was little. Kieran Culkin would sleep on this side, Macaulay Culkin was on this side, his sisters in there. We all would just jam in the bed.''
