Ordinary Joe

Jacko's dad says he whipped Michael. Joe Jackson tells the BBC that he whipped -- but never beat -- the star

In an interview airing Sunday on British television, Michael Jackson's father admits that he whipped the superstar as a child. But at the same time, Joe Jackson denies that he ever beat him. ''I whipped him with a switch and a belt,'' Jackson tells a BBC interviewer, according to the network's Web site. ''I never beat him. You beat someone with a stick.''

Jackson, accompanied to the interview by a man identifying himself as Majestik Magnificent -- Michael's ''personal magician'' -- goes on to say he wasn't bothered by his son's plastic surgery. He adds that he doubts Michael's claims that he's so scared of his father that he ''regurgitates'' when he sees him. ''He regurgitates all the way to the bank,'' Jackson says.

Jackson ends the interview after his interrogator suggests that Michael might be gay. ''We don't believe in gays. We can't stand them,'' Jackson says. So there goes Bravo's ''Queer Eye for the Jackson Guys'' special.
