Flying in from Las Vegas Thursday, Michael Jackson, 45, surrendered to authorities at the Santa Barbara sheriff's department, where earlier this week charges of child molestation were filed against the singer. Jackson has already posted a reported $3 million bail and been released from custody according to his attorney, Mark Geragos.
Jackson arrived at the Santa Barbara Airport in a Gulfstream jet, which pulled into a hangar to afford the singer privacy from local news team helicopters. While Jackson was able to disembark from the plane and board a sheriff's vehicle in secrecy, paparazzi were able to capture footage of the singer as he entered the rear of the building in handcuffs.
Shortly after Jackson entered the building, attorney Geragos held a press conference stating that his client was ''outraged'' at the charges against him, adding that ''he looks forward to getting into a courtroom'' to prove his innocence. Until then, Jackson can look forward to even more unwelcome scrutiny: Thesmokinggun.com has already promised to post his mugshot photo on their site.
