Michael Jackson has one less thing to worry about these days: his kids. His parents, Joe and Katherine Jackson, say they would attempt to adopt Prince Michael I, Prince Michael II, and Paris if authorities tried to remove them from the singer's custody. ''Well... they're my grandkids,'' Joe Jackson told an interviewer for British ITV. ''I have to.''
The elder Jacksons also stated in the interview, which airs on Friday's edition of the ABC news program ''20/20,'' that their son has told them he is innocent of the Nov. 20 charges of child molestation filed against him. ''Some people are trying to accuse him of being a pedophile, and that is not true,'' said Katherine Jackson. ''He said, 'Mother, don't worry, it's not the truth. But I told him you don't know these wicked people.''
Joe Jackson also came to his defense. ''Knowing Michael as a father, I know he doesn't do things like that,'' he said. ''His mother knows it, too.''
The younger Jacksons may not want to leave Neverland anytime soon given Michael's past allegations against his father. He has claimed his father beat him growing up, and that he became so nervous in his presence he would throw up. Responding to his son's claims in an interview last month, Joe Jackson responded, ''He regurgitates all the way to the bank.'' Well, at least he never dangled Michael off a hotel balcony.
