'Big Brother' Slated for Summer Run

(FROM HOLLYWOOD REPORTER) – CBS is airing back-to-back cycles of Big Brother with a new summer run slated for this summer, following the winter run currently airing. The show has run the past three summers, and is currently in the middle of its first in-season edition, which premiered in February. A slip in ratings cast doubt on the prospect of back-to-back cycles. The summer 2005 cycle earned a 2.9 rating among adults 18-49, and the 2006 and 2007 summer runs held steady at 2.8. This season's winter cycle has only earned a 2.1 rating in the demo, though some of the episodes have run against ratings titan American Idol. No premiere date has been set for the summer edition.
