(FROM VARIETY) – Buying is underway at this year's Sundance Film Festival as HBO Doc Films acquired The Black List: Volume 1, a collaboration between photographer-filmmaker Timothy Greenfield-Sanders and former New York Times film critic Elvis Mitchell. The film interviews contemporary African-American leaders and icons, including Sean Combs, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Chris Rock, about their personal experiences and the larger societal repercussions of race. Terms of the deal were not announced. (Variety)
