Love is in the airwaves this spring. Tom Cruise is talking on TV about his new romance with Katie Holmes, going so far as to use the L-word, saying he wants to share his life with the former Dawson's Creek star.

''I love this woman. She's magnificent,'' Cruise, 42, said of the 26-year-old actress during an Access Hollywood interview that will air Monday. ''We go scuba diving together. She likes all the stuff that I love to do, she's funny and smart.''

Cruise's excitement is apparently difficult for him to contain physically. Entertainment Tonight reports that in an appearance on Oprah slated to air Monday, the actor ''jumps up for joy'' when asked about Holmes, then goes backstage to retrieve her, much to the audience's delight.

Meanwhile, Cruise told MTV that his decision to go public with his relationship with Holmes expresses to the world, ''This is my woman.'' Public appearances together are his way of ''saying, 'I want to share my life with this woman; this woman is exceptional, she is special, she is extraordinary and I have great respect for her.' And it's saying, 'I got nothing to hide. I'm happy.' I'm happy, man…she is something else,'' he added.

Cruise says he isn't worried about what people think or say about the affair. Several tabloids have questioned whether the Cruise-Holmes mash-up is a publicity stunt to promote their new films: His War of the Worlds opens June 29, while her Batman Begins arrives June 15.
